Amy Snyder (formerly Amy Sande-Friedman) advises new and seasoned collectors on the acquisition and sale of art. Although her focus is on Contemporary Art—postwar to the modern day—she has worked with diverse material, including collections focused on the nineteenth century. Amy also builds and maintains corporate collections and sources artwork for lobbies, restaurants, and retail spaces. Although based in New York, Amy has clients across the United States.

Relying on knowledge and relationships developed over fifteen years in the New York art world, Amy finds desirable works of art for her clients’ homes and offices. Her passion for looking at art brings her not only to prestigious galleries, auction previews, and art fairs, but also the studios of emerging talent. Her comprehensive knowledge of the art market, allows Amy to present an extensive range of work for each project. She also has in-depth technical experience with framing, shipping, installation, and insurance to ensure that each piece she acquires for a client is expertly preserved and presented.

MY MISSION

1. It’s about you
Each of my projects is tailored to the client’s budget, taste, and interests. I am happy to tell you what I like, but working with me is about what you like. It is also about your experience. I can share images by email or Pinterest, and I am also happy to give in-person presentations.

2. Fun
Finding works of art for your home should be fun. Part of the point is getting to know New York’s art scene. I love it when my clients can join me for openings and events, and I also think it’s great when kids come on art-viewing outings – it’s their home, too. My hope is that by working together each of my clients will get excited to learn about art.

3. Honesty
I offer unbiased guidance on every acquisition, and I only represent my clients. I am transparent in my billing practices—my clients know exactly how much they are paying for a work of art. Regardless of professional discounts I receive, I never mark up framing or installation.

4. Attention to detail
There are a number of steps that happen after you have selected a work of art for your home. From invoicing to framing to delivery to installation, I see through every detail of the process, and it is essential to me that my clients have a seamless, easy experience.
