Affordable Art

Tuesday Under Ten: RF Alvarez

Every Tuesday I post a work of art I love priced under $10K to support emerging artists and young galleries. This week: How pretty are these works on paper by RF Alvarez? Drawing on antiquity (both Greco-Roman and New World - though I see Matisse, as well), he depicts a catalogue of human experience.

Tuesday Under Ten: Sara Jones

Every Tuesday I post a work of art I love priced under $10K. This week: I have not been able to stop thinking about this new piece by Sara Jones. She combined a replicated, illegible family letter with weaving to explore ideas of indecipherable relics and lost stories. If you're interested in Sara's work, please get in touch!

Tuesday Under Ten: Adam Silverman

Every Tuesday I post a work of art I love priced under $10K. This week: I'm looking forward to this crazy week of art fairs in New York, and I've been busily browsing images for pieces I want to see in person for my clients. Tomorrow I start at the Armory Show Preview. Unlike some of the so-called satellite fairs, the Armory Show is "blue chip," and there isn't much for under $10,000, but I love this affordable table-top sculpture by Adam Silverman that will be exhibited by Philip Martin Gallery. Stay tuned for more images from all of the fairs!

Also, I should add, this grid of four can be had for under $10,000. If you want to take a look, please get in touch!

Tuesday Under Ten: Angel Otero

Every Tuesday I post a work of art I love priced under $10K. This week: The wonderful artist Angel Otero made a series of hand-glazed porcelain wind chimes as an homage to his grandmother who collected chimes. Each piece in the series of 20 is unique and created with the same transfer process that Otero uses for oil skin paintings.

Tuesday Under Ten: Grant Falardeau

Every Tuesday I post a work of art I love priced under $10K. This week: when I browsed images of Grant Falardeau's current show at Hilde Gallery in Los Angeles, I just couldn't get this one out of my head. Is it because it reminds me a little of a George Condo sculpture, but with an affordable price tag... maybe! But is that a bad reason? If you're interested in seeing more, please get in touch!

Tuesday Under Ten: Aaron Siskind

Every Tuesday I post a work of art I love priced under $10K. This week: One of my favorite events of the year is the Klotz Gallery Holiday Sale. Now in its 39th year, this is a fantastic opportunity to pick up holiday presents or black and white photography for a gallery wall. Everything is priced under $10,000, and there are pieces in the under $5,000, $1,000, $500, and $100 categories, too. This little guy was Aaron Siskin's 1960 Christmas Card, and it should feel free to hop right on my wall!

Every Tuesday I post a work of art I love priced under $10K. This week: I am so into the black and white line portraits that are part of JM Rizzi's current show at Chesterfield Gallery. A little bit street art, a little bit Picasso; these large ink on canvas pieces feel fresh and bold to me. If you're interested in taking a look in person, please let me know!

Tuesday Under Ten: Adam Katseff

Every Tuesday I post a work of art I love priced under $10K. This week: Adam Katseff's landscapes are dark and mysterious -- a scene from nature transformed into something both other-worldly and elegant. And, they look gorgeous on a big white wall!
