I give back to my creative community by working with emerging artists. This engagement with young talent also exposes me to fresh work to consider for my clients. Here are a few of my projects.
delve services for artists
I am currently working in partnership with the creative agency Kind Aesthetic. I help emerging artists assess their professional goals and zero-in on the steps needed to achieve them with the DELVE Service Dive Into the Art World. If you are an artist interested in gaining more attention in the New York art world and help with your professional marketing materials, studio-visit presentation, and pricing structure please take a look!
In 2012, I was the first Art Editor of The Common, a journal published at Amherst College. Several of my essays for The Common can be read online.
fair folks & a goat
In 2010, I was the founding Art Director for an experimental art and design space called Fair Folks & a Goat. Fair Folks was established with the goal of creating social environments with strong arts programming. I established the fine art programs for both of the original Fair Folks spaces: an Upper East Side tearoom gallery in New York and a New Orleans bed and breakfast. Both locations showed a roster of local emerging artists. The exhibitions were often accompanied by artist talks and performances, making the space lively and vibrant. During my tenure, Fair Folks was featured in Site Unseen, Paper Magazine, Apartment Therapy, and Time Out New York.
In 2009, I co-founded a competition for emerging artists called Sprout that culminated in an exhibition for the winner, Ari Tabei. Sprout had an amazing panel of art-world judges and received some great press, including write ups in Vogue and Paper Magazine.
