I was way downtown last week, so I had an opportunity to visit the Antonio Murado commission I worked on for Brookfield. These three gorgeous paintings went into the office building lobby of what was once the World Financial Center and is now part of the Brookfield Place campus. The Hudson River is right outside the lobby windows, and I love how the paintings relate to water without being on-the-nose waterscapes. At the same time, there's something earthy about them that fits in perfectly with the rough, warm stone surfaces of the lobby. Working closely with an artist on a large-scale commission like this is an exciting process and really different from what I do most days helping my private clients.
