Favorite of the Week: Zhang Huan

This week and last are all about photography in New York. I spent a lot of time at AIPAD's The Photography Show -- an all photo art fair -- with clients and doing research for my projects, and I checked out Phillips' auction previews for this week's sales, as well. Among the most dramatic pieces I saw is this nine photograph series by Zhang Huan. One of the most well-known Chinese Contemporary artists, Zhang Huan works in a variety of media. For this project, he collaborated with calligraphers who slowly obliterated his facial features with Chinese proverbs and stories. The next round of auctions in New York are the print sales at the end of the month. Stay tuned!
