amy snyder                                     (formerly amy sande-friedman)

A Manhattan native, I am a graduate of Amherst College and received my Ph.D. from the Bard Graduate Center. I wrote my dissertation on the Contemporary sculptor Kenneth Snelson.

Soon after graduating from Amherst in 2000, I started my career in Sotheby’s catalogue production department. I was subsequently the Director of a leading art advisory firm and two Contemporary galleries. I have also taught on the undergraduate and graduate level, published essays, and given talks on art and design.

I frequently serve on benefit and steering committees for art-related non-profits. I am on the Young Collectors Committee for The ADAA Art Show Henry Street Settlement event, and, in the spring of 2015, I curated an exhibition and silent auction to benefit the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). My past involvements includes Art Connects New York, Greenwich House Pottery, and Fountain House Gallery.

I live in Brooklyn with my husband, John, and a small fluffy dog named Hogarth.
